SMA Donation Empowers Local Police Department
SMA’s donation to the Rocklin Police Officers' Association will contribute to the construction of the first and only police K-9 training facility in Placer County.
The Rocklin Police K9 Program protects the community by helping law enforcement officers with protection, tracking of people, and narcotic detection efforts. The canine unit also makes regular appearances each year at the local schools and community events to demonstrate how the dogs are trained and how they interact with their handlers.
The students of Leadership Rocklin (2019-2020) partnered with the Rocklin Police Officers' Association to plan the construction of a local K9 training course for the Rocklin Police Department for the purpose of significantly benefiting the K9 program. The class has been working diligently to obtain the funds to make this a reality. The nearest existing facility of this kind that has been opened to Rocklin K9 Officers is in Davis.
With help from community members, including students from the Leadership Rocklin Class of (2019-2020), the Rocklin Police Department is one step closer to this reality.
SMA Sales Support & Operations Manager Stephanie Fellenberg and Project Manager Caden Elvick are part of the leadership class and led SMA’s efforts to support the Rocklin Police Officers' Association with a $2,500 donation.
We are pleased to know that this project will not only elevate law enforcement in Rocklin through a readily accessible training facility, but also the surrounding communities as the course will be open to police departments across Placer County.
